RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2
Rockstar has been the king of open world games (or one of them, at least) for as long as anyone can remember, so when we say that Red Dead Redemption 2 might just be the finest open world the legendary studio has ever crafted, you know that’s not praise that’s lightly given. To create a world as richly detailed and as ridiculously impressive as its version of the American Frontier is no easy task, and maintaining the still-unmatched level of visual fidelity that it does across the entire experience is nigh on impossible. Red Dead 2 is also a masterclass in storytelling and character development, with probably one of the greatest gaming protagonists of all time. When a game succeeds as thoroughly at as many things as Red Dead Redemption 2 does, it’s impossible not to consider it as one of the all-time greats.
