Half-Life 2
Yeah, you’ve surely played this already, but Half-Life 2 is such an iconic title it’d be remiss of us not to include in a list of alien battling games. You are Gordon Freeman, an unlikely hero rising out of humanity’s clash with interplanetary alien empire the Combine. The Combine, composed of both organic and synthetic material, rule Earth with an iron fist, a brutal police state which mechanistically controls its population through violence. Wielding Gordon’s trusty crowbar against these totalitarian rulers is ultra-satisfying, of course, but the later acquisition of the Gravity Gun adds mind bending puzzles to the mix.
