PORTAL 2 PS3 ANNOUNCEMENT – E3 2010

Valve’s issues with the PS3 and its architecture were very well publicized. In fact, it was Valve themselves who publicly (and with brutal honesty) talked about all their problems with the console. And so it was more than just a tad bit surprising when Valve CEO Gabe Newell took the stage at Sony’s E3 press conference in 2010 to confirm that Portal 2 would indeed be coming to the PS3 as well. It was rare enough for Valve to do something so public-facing at E3, and combined with their renewed friendship with Sony, it made for a truly unforgettable moment.
