Bigfoot – GTA series
As a fantastic example of what can happen when the fans help build the legacy of the series, Bigfoot in Grand Theft Auto first caught traction as a wild rumour in San Andreas, allegedly found in the forests of Back o’ Beyond at night. While it did not in fact exist in the PS2 classic, Rockstar will to this day reference Sasquatch in their games from time to time as a knowing wink to those old school fans who remember the chase for Bigfoot in Los Santos. The two standout examples come from Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare and an extra secret peyote trip in Grand Theft Auto V.
