Sonic Generations
Sonic Colors was great but served as the predecessor to one of the best Sonic games in a long, long time – Sonic Generations. As a celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary, it featured a new storyline with Sonic’s past and present selves working together, traversing zones based on games from the classic, 3D and modern eras. Each version controlled differently, with the classic Sonic having the Spin Dash and Spin Attack while the modern version had the Boost mechanic and homing attacks.
New abilities, side missions, unlockable concept art and character profiles, new modes like 30 Second Trial and much more extended the replay value. Overall, Sonic Generations was a reminder of the series’ journey and how much fun it could still be.
