Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Nintendo’s puzzle platformer spin-off series made an unexpected comeback this year with Mario vs. Donkey Kong, a gorgeous remake of the first title. It sported everything that made the original so compelling, while also adding local co-op, two new worlds (complete with Plus variants for even more challenges), and Time Attack. Though it may be on the easier side for puzzle gamers (and don’t worry, because we have a much more devious game to recommend), Mario vs. Donkey Kong is pretty easygoing and enjoyable.
