Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Much like 2024’s Hellblade II, Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice harnessed unprecedented tech which made the process of capturing performance much more streamlined allowing them to present Senua’s first instalment with movie-like quality beyond what the studio had accomplished before. Dubbed ‘real-time cinematography’, Ninja Theory deployed a sequencer in Unreal Engine 4 which could tweak, edit, and re-frame just-captured performance data without the need for expensive, time-consuming reshoots, and the results provided a launchpad for the immensely cinematic sequel.
