Firelink Shrine Roof Shortcut
In Firelink Shrine, you can purchase a Tower Key to unlock the nearby Bell Tower for 20,000 Souls. This will also take you to the roof of the Shrine where Picklepum the Crow resides (along with an illusory wall and other goodies). To avoid paying the Souls, you can simply kick-jump off of the tree nearest to the rooftop. It’s on the way to the Bell Tower so you can’t miss it. The only downside is you can’t head to the Bell Tower to claim the Fire Keeper’s Soul but it’s a great way to save 20K Souls.
