Stealing an idea from Fallout: New Vegas here, what if we added a bit more realism and make survival a real thing? The boy and his pet won’t just die from falling or dangerous enemies anymore. No. Now they can die of starvation, of thirst, of too much hot sun! They become forced to find fresh water and a hot meal to eat in this wilderness. If it’s too hot to handle, they must retreat into a shaded area for a time. There’s no limits on a realistic perspective. It only makes situations more interesting.
