Days Gone

Days Gone_02

Yes, yes… plenty of negativity has been spouted on Days Gone over the years. It just didn’t resonate well with most critics, because of, you know, bugs. Once the patches rolled out players were enthralled – there’s nothing quite like bounding around scenic post-apocalyptic Oregon, a ravenous horde of zombies in tow. Game director Jeff Ross has spoken of the first entry in game franchises functioning as foundation layers, with developers able to shoehorn all their great ideas into a sequel which they couldn’t figure out how to build into the first. Days Gone 2 flame has been well and truly doused by the game’s other director John Garvin though, who repeatedly laments Sony’s decision to cancel a follow up in favour of Bend Studios working on a live-service game. Shame.
