Akira Kurosawa’s influence on Trek to Yomi’s presentation was evident from the first reveal. However, it’s taken further with the cinematography, whether it’s the camera positioning, realistic animations or the composition of certain scenes. As problematic as the combat can be, Flying Wild Hog has at least delivered one of the more visually memorable titles of the year.
