Despite taking some time to get used to the controls, it truly embodied the Metroid Prime spirit while delivering its own compelling gameplay, progression and epic boss fights. Such is the brilliance of its design that even the recently released remaster for Nintendo Switch is one of the highest-rated games of this year.
