Half-Life 2
Perhaps the question to haunt Valve the most is “How do you possibly top Half-Life?” We’re not sure if that caused Half-Life 2 to release so long after the first but it was still a five year wait (including the sudden delay in 2003). The wait was ultimately worth it – Half-Life 2 is one of the best games ever – but after a few additional episodes, that seems to be it for the franchise. For now.
