We’re approaching the end of the current generation of consoles, which means most developers in the industry right now are managing to squeeze the maximum out of juice out of the PS4 and the Xbox One possible. Console games are looking better than they ever have, and in the first half of 2019, we’ve seen a number of excellent looking titles whose visuals have impressed to varying degrees. In this feature, we’ll be taking a look at fifteen such titles.

Built on Avalanche Studios’ Apex Engine and packing the punch of an id Software shooter, RAGE 2 is a flawed but hellishly fun game. It is also a visual treat. Boasting a lot more flair and visual variety than its predecessor, and supported by the tech to back up its creative ambitions, RAGE 2 looks constantly impressive and explosive.
