Ryse: Son of Rome is an interesting title for Crytek, starting as a Kinect title and eventually going from high fantasy to ancient Rome with its setting. The Kinect approach was ditched entirely, with gameplay leaning heavily on QTEs, and while its execution is a different matter entirely, the visuals were surprisingly great between the character models, textures, and cutscenes. It came and went with surprising alacrity yet continues to stand out.
