Hoping for the Best

Video games are pretty good at crushing our hopes and dreams. It’s just the nature of the industry which, like any other, doesn’t just run off good intentions and hype doesn’t always mean a great game. However, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t hope for the best. Grandia 2‘s ending made it seem like there would be nothing but pain and suffering but everything worked out. Ditto for Saints Row IV, and the entire Earth had been wiped out at that point. It may not lead to the best result but that doesn’t mean you can’t hope for the best.
