An incredible way to put encapsulate what Raiden’s arc in Metal Gear Solid 2 was all about- while the Patriots, Raiden himself, and even we as players kept on hoping that he would live up to the legend of Solid Snake, the man himself told him in no vague terms that that was the last thing he needed to do. What he needed to do was find something that he could fight for, and find it himself, because only then would it mean anything to him.
