Half Life 2: Episode 2
Valve is the master of abrupt endings. Half-Life 1 ended with Gordon Freeman accepting the G. Man’s offer after a harrowing journey. Half-Life 2 saw the Citadel destroyed and Gordon placed back into stasis by the G-Man. However, Episode 2 is perhaps the worst – after the rocket is launched, closing off the Combine’s portal and preventing reinforcements from coming in, two Advisors attack the group of Gordon, Alyx and Eli Vance. Eli dies in the encounter and Alyx cries over his body. What a perfect time to end the game, right? Right?
