The Element That Brings Life
In the original Mortal Kombat film, Kitana would drop in to offer advice to Liu Kang, even if it was something cryptic. The most famous example is telling Liu Kang that he must use the element that brings life to defeat Sub-Zero. We get a callback to this when the princess faces Sub-Zero in-game, saying she’ll beat him with the very same element. Even Liu Kang gets in on the act later when he tells Sub-Zero during their interaction that he just needs a pail of water to beat him.
