The Fight Means Nothing
Some boss fights just mean nothing. You could encounter the main villain and he’ll allow…some kind of punishment to be dealt like Ramirez in Skies of Arcadia. However, your efforts are ultimately futile and the boss wins out. Remember fighting Shaft in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? Even after beating him, Dracula is still summoned. Or how about Vile from Mega Man X, who can’t be beaten in the very first encounter at all. So why even bother fighting back?
