STRAFE JUMPING- QUAKE

Strafe jumping, and by extension, circle jumping and bunny hopping, have almost become staples of the first person shooter genre. It’s a legitimate way of moving your character at a faster speed in games such as Quake, a trick that countless players utilize without second though. Notably enough, it also originated as a glitch in the original Quake. The developers, however, realized that it actually makes movement in the game a lot more fun, and decided to keep it in the game. Little did they know that it would go on to become a standard technique used by the masses.
