PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS
Battle royale modes have been around for plenty of time, but it wasn’t until PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds that their true potential was fully realized. Fortnite may be giving it a fair bit of competition (some might say it’s more than just a fair bit), but it was PUBG that showed everyone just howe addictive and enticing this formula can be. Just think about it- there’s only one map in the entire game (on the Xbox One, at least), and yet people still can’t stop playing it. It’s admittedly a little disappointing that the game faces several performance issues on the Xbox One, but the fact that people continue to ignore these just so they can keep playing the game speaks volumes.
