METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is so unlike its precursors, but what a game it is. It may be severely lacking in its storytelling, and while some might argue that that is the most important part of any Metal Gear game, The Phantom Pain is still open world and stealth gameplay at its best. It could have been very easy for the game’s two maps to get boring quite quickly, given how empty they are, but the game’s excellent blend of interlinked systems, emergent gameplay, and intense stealth action make it the video game equivalent of a gripping page turner.
