Bioware is one of the most prestigious developers in the market, and Anthem had some pretty big shoes to fill with its brand of open-world action. After enduring a turbulent development cycle that was infested with publisher interference, Anthem’s final version ended up being a faint shadow of the glorious promises that were made. A weak endgame, bland story, and microtransactions were just some of the problems that were evident with Anthem’s 1.0 release. The developer planned to right those wrongs with Anthem NEXT, but even those promises turned into sawdust as the publisher withdrew post-launch support for the game.
