This particular Skyrim quote is iconic because, well, every other guard seemed to have taken an arrow to the knee. How were they all wounded in the exact same way? There was a rumour that started about “taking an arrow to the knee” actually meaning to get married in Nordic culture (because you got down on one knee to propose). However, this has since been debunked. The line itself was really just a line and nothing more.
