“All DLC should be free”
Downloadable content has always been a sketchy concept but believing “all DLC should be free” isn’t the right course to dealing with it. If a developer like, say, Paradox Interactive has been allocating essential features to paid DLC for games like Hearts of Iron or Europa Univeralis, it’s fair to speak out. This is especially fair considering how much DLC has been produced thus far and how expensive it can all be. But when a developer has been offering lots of free updates for a year and then announces paid DLC, as was the recent case with Moonlighter’s upcoming Between Dimensions? Either buy it or don’t buy it. Slamming the developer for not making it free isn’t the play.
