EARLY HARDWARE PROBLEMS
It’s not uncommon for consoles to launch with hardware problems – the Xbox 360 had the RROD, the Switch has the Joy-Con – and the PS1, too, launched with its set of issues. These included loud “ticking” noises coming from some consoles, or the console lens not being able to read discs, which resulted in games failing to load.
