Niche Or Not?

What happens when hardware developers begin to market their VR headsets to the masses? Gaming in general is already a niche market. Why would creating something that is heavy, expensive, takes high end PCs or consoles, be a smart idea at this moment in time? Simple answer: it wouldn’t be smart. An educated consumer never jumps in on a first version tech frenzy. An educated consumer waits and sees how the flow of the idea goes. Speaking in context of an “educated gamer” that would only leave a very small, less than niche consumer to purchase this hardware for at least the first year. These are scary times for VR.
