No To 3D. Yes To VR?
3D glasses
For gamers, mentioning 3D in gaming, using those glasses for the most immersive experience was never taken in full stride. This generation of console gaming seems to have all but forgotten 3D gaming as it tried to be somewhat biggest during last generation of the Xbox 360 and PS3 era. If gamers are quick to abandon and forget 3D what makes VR hardware developers believe that their tech will catch on? Granted 3D is not truly relatable, but this example holds true for all sorts of new tech many call “gimmicks.” Kinect for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, PS Move for PlayStation 3, Wii U Gamepad, etc. Gamers are a hard crowd to please. With new tech failing on the daily, hardware developers will have to discover new marketing strategies and inventive ways to show us that VR is truly the future. But many gamers allow themselves to be closed minded.
