Super Mario Odyssey
The eternal conflict between Mario and Bowser is encapsulated perfectly in Super Mario Odyssey. Mario tries and fails to stop Bowser. Bowser does everything to stop Mario and marry Peach. Mario even possesses Bowser, reliving the latter’s past experiences (and trauma), to escape. However, by the end, Peach makes an interesting revelation – she doesn’t want to deal with either of them any more. It’s the perfect reaction really, like the princess finally realized this is all ridiculous and just goes on her own way. The fact that Peach takes some time off for her own vacation is another nice touch.
