Indie developers have become the lifeblood of creativity in this industry, and their meteoric rise has been perhaps one of the best things to have happened to video games over the last few years. No exaggerations, some of the best games that we’ve played in recent memory have been made by tiny teams on tiny budgets, whether that’s the impeccable metroidvania design of Hollow Knight, or the visual splendour of Ori, or the relaxed and addictive gameplay of Stardew Valley, or the unhinged genius of Undertale. Long may this continue.
