You’ve probably heard the term “whales” when it comes to games with microtransactions. A large amount of support for a free to play game comes from the average folks though who don’t play other games though. They’re happy to throw a few dollars into their favourite past time. Of course, there are the truly addicted who will admit (with a bit guilt) to spending hundreds of dollars over the years on cosmetics for Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch etc. That’s not stopping them from spending more, mind you.
