14. Theme/Wallpaper Customisation

PlayStation 4 UI (2)

The PS3 had its own set of flaws, but at least it let us customise the home screen according to our needs. We could choose a dark-drab wallpaper with our favourite game characters to set the mood right before we immersed ourselves into our favourite games or we could have blindingly bright rendition of Mario grabbing his hat with his knobby hands and for that matter, any picture that we wanted could be put up.

But not in the PS4. Instead of improving upon the customisation options, Sony treated us to permanent blue theme and there’s nothing you can do about it. Browse through your games and files long enough and it feels as if you were forced to watch an extremely repugnant parody of The Smurfs. Please Sony, we don’t want to go through banal and insipid menus for the years to come.
