7. Voice Commands
There are quite some problems with the voice commands in the Kinect. Being the most widely advertised aspect of the Xbox One, we expected it to be flawless. It’s irritating and frustrating to remember those specific commands to make the Xbox do something you want. On the one hand, the Kinect is so smart that it can even read your heart rate, but it can’t tell that “Xbox, On” “Xbox, turn on” and “Xbox, switch on” are the same thing.
Why does such a capable and smart system need such specific commands? And it’s also irritating when the Kinect mistaken you’re talking to your buddy or family as a command and promptly open up a random application while you shout at the top of your voice to close it. Paused your game to attend a phone call in the other room? Too bad, that bird’s flapping outside the window meant ‘unpause’. Microsoft needs to give its customers more reasons to buy a $100 bundled component.
