The very first game in the series’ chronology is also the very first game in the series, being set in the year 2161, but Fallout 76 could be set even before that. The Pip-Boy shown in the teaser trailer for the game seems to suggest that the game will take place in 2102, and being so close to the cataclysmic event known as the Great War, which serves as the catalyst for the entire series, we expect Fallout 76 to reveal a lot of interesting lore information. Within the game itself, the Great War will still be a relatively fresh and recent event, and the world won’t have settled into its post apocalyptic state like we’re used to seeing in Fallout (modern Fallout games are set more than two hundred years after the nuclear war), so we expect to hear more about the cataclysmic event than ever before.
