Re-interpreting the story of Code Veronica, which we spoke of, is something that would be rather tricky, mostly because of one character- Albert Wesker. His over-the-top and cheesy portrayal is something that comes off the back off contextual events in past RE games that explain why he is the way he is in Code Veronica (or rather, Code Veronica X), while future RE games would actually go on to double down on those elements. But while toning down Wesker might prove to be tricky, it’s something that Capcom will want to do, to keep him more in line with the tonal shift that the series has seen of late.
