That being said, it wouldn’t be too strange if Superman went the route of Marvel’s Spiderman and adapted key elements of the comics while telling an original story. The benefits of this are obvious – there’s much more leeway to tell different stories, have a bevy of villains appear and even incorporate elements from more recent DC reboots. Everyone has some degree of familiarity with the origin story so this helps to speed things along.
