The PlayStation Portable has its fair share of under-appreciated games but Vicious Cycle Software’s Dead Head Fred is perhaps its weirdest. You play as decapitated private investigator Fred who explores the circumstances surrounding his recent murder. Fred can switch heads and utilize different abilities in the process. That’s the basic premise but it’s wrapped up in a detective noir-style presentation. Again, sales were nothing special and reviews were average at best but at least the game’s writing was recognized by the Writers Guild of America in 2007.
