GRAND THEFT AUTO: CHINATOWN WARS
Oh look, another handheld-only spinoff in a major franchise. Behemoths like San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto 5 often dominate headlines when it comes to Rockstar’s flagship series, while poor little Chinatown Wars – built on a smaller budget for handheld devices and sporting a top-down look similar to pre-GTA 3 titles – often ends up being ignored. But make no mistake- this is genuinely one of the very best games this series has ever delivered. Its open world is an absolute blast, it’s full of enjoyable and inventive minigames, it tells an engaging story, and it has some of the best mission structure ever in a GTA game. Chinatown Wars may not be as shiny or as staggeringly massive as some of the big boys in the series, but when it comes to quality, it can give all of them a run for their money.
