DARK SECTOR
We’re not going to pretend that Warframe developer Digital Extremes’ 2008 shooter Dark Sector was a perfect game- not, it was really quite a rough and janky one. Even so, there’s a lot about it that we can’t help but remember fondly. Its third-person cover shooting mechanics may have been virtually indistinguishable from what we saw in so many other Gears of War clones in that era, but they were solidly implemented, while the game also delivered a unique twist with its primary, boomerang-like weapon, the Glaive, which lent an entirely different flavour to the combat.
