Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil, as a series, had always been about survival horror – but ever since Resident Evil 4 hit the scene in 2005, the series started to veer away into the action territory. The biggest offender in that regard is Resident Evil 6, which seems to have completely ditched the series’ roots in favor of a bombastic thrill ride filled with action set pieces. It’s not bad by any stretch, but fans and critics didn’t like the direction that the series was going – and the developer quickly course-corrected with the return-to-form that is Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
