Ultima IX: Ascension
When many people may comment “EA Bad” for the publisher, they do so for a variety of reasons. Ultimate IX: Ascension is one such reason, mostly due to the timing of its release. Nevertheless, this penultimate chapter had numerous issues through its years of development. Multiple versions were created through the years, numerous designers had departed the project, much of the team was assigned to work on Ultima Online, and so on. At one point, the story was rewritten entirely. Ultima IX released to poor reviews, mostly due to its lack of continuity with previous games and the numerous bugs inherent, and the franchise itself was killed off afterwards from poor sales.
