Halo: The Master Chief Collection
When the Xbox One first released, it was more or less reeling from the always-online DRM and always-on Kinect disaster that Microsoft first marketed it as. With Phil Spencer taking over as Xbox boss in 2014, the studio started to shift back towards games. In 2014, the company had a seemingly awesome trifecta of great releases for Autumn with Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Unfortunately, on release, Halo MCC was plagued by disconnects, long matchmaking times, brutal glitches and so on. Though 343 Industries released numerous updates, it ultimately had to tone down resources as Halo 5’s release approached. In recent times though, the developer had taken to improving The Master Chief Collection, taking feedback from fans and testing it thoroughly. Regardless, whether it was because of the task of managing several different games with several different engines at once or the lack of proper testing, Halo: The Master Chief Collection was a train-wreck at launch.
