Nier: Automata
When it was announced that the 2010 cult hit Nier would be receiving a sequel, and that it would developed by Platinum Games, no less, the new surprised quite a lot of people, to say the least. But it was the most pleasant surprise one could hope for. While the original Nier released back in 2010 was a vastly flawed experience, it was a game that was not afraid to try out new and unique ideas, and while their execution wasn’t always perfect, the overall experience was one that, despite everything, was truly memorable. Nier: Automata looks to be capitalizing on the strengths of the original and hopefully working on the flaws that kept it from greatness, and developers Platinum Games will surely inject it with thrilling, stylish combat.
