The Barnacles of Half-Life are one of the more OG eaters. They don’t move. They don’t go out of their way to attack. They just sit and wait, tongue-like appendage protruding from the ceiling. Killing them is easy enough but walking into a room full of Barnacles, just hanging out on the ceiling, can still be discomforting. Plus that feeling of paralysis before slowing being pulled up is always terrifying.
