With Dragon Age: Origins, BioWare delivered what might be one of their most beloved games of all time, delivering a classic cRPG experience at a time when they were becoming increasingly rare. With Dragon Age 2, they sort of just forgot about everything that endeared Origins to millions. Dropping the tactical, complex, and ridiculously deep nature of Origins, with the sequel they went for something more streamlined, more action-oriented, and more immediate. The result was a game that may have been decent in isolation, but completely failed as a sequel to Origins.
