NINJA GAIDEN 3
Team Ninja’s revival of the Ninja Gaiden series is perhaps one of the most successful examples of how to revive and reimagine a beloved property, and with the first two games in the rebooted series, they delivered what are probably two of the greatest character action games of all time. With Ninja Gaiden 3, it’s fair to say they definitely did not do that. Ninja Gaiden 3 made the mistake that so many other games used to make in the late PS3/Xbox 360 era. In a misguided effort to appeal to larger audiences, it sacrificed the hardcore depth of its predecessors for what was a much shallower experience. In the end, Ninja Gaiden 3 did not know why so many people fell in love with its predecessors, and it suffered for it.
