2022 was a wonderful year for open-world games, thanks to high-profile releases like Horizon Forbidden West having been released to great critical and commercial acclaim. Unsurprisingly, the demand for such experiences continues to grow at a rapid pace as we move towards 2023 and beyond – and here are 16 of the most promising open world games you should know about.

Starfield

Bethesda’s first new IP in 25 years, Starfield is set to be a gargantuan space odyssey with all the bells and whistles that one expects from a developer with such a pedigree. The game’s NASA Punk designs look really fresh, which perfectly balances sci-fi and realism. You will get to explore a massive open-world and hundreds of planets which will be home to different factions and species, so it seems fair to expect a lot of varied quests and gear in Starfield. It releases for Xbox Series X/S and PC sometime in early 2023.
