Boomer shooters have gained a ton of popularity in the last couple of years, and while there’s no shortage of great games to choose from – our pick has to be Trigger Happy’s 2022 release Turbo Overkill. The art style in this game looks like a glorious throwback to classics like Quake, and the action can get pretty intense with large arenas filled to the brim with all sorts of enemies. You also have a bullet-time ability to keep things under your control, and the end result is a combat system that requires steadfast thinking and tactical knowledge to succeed in the toughest encounters. Of course, it’s extremely fun to play as well – and fans of old-school shooters should definitely check it out.
