System Shock
Pioneering 1994 classic System Shock has been remade for contemporary hardware and it’s a blast to play through despite coexisting a little too closely to its forebearer. Its controls and shooting mechanics bear much of the original’s archaic charm, for instance, but its undeniably an evocative experience overall with an engaging story told non-linearly, and an overarching AI nemesis more unsettling today than it was three decades ago.
